2017 #83

I'm trying a bit harder to get good photos this week, though to be fair the attempts have ended up a bit of an 'Art vs Bunny' situation and bunny usually wins.

I thought yesterdays photo came out well, I'm using dual off-camera bounce flash again, which worked nicely for the portrait. But it did look quite similar to previous photos, so for todays I thought I'd try something I've not really attempted with bunnies before:- Backlighting. In this case, that means having the flashes behind the bunny, but not wanting to blind him it was still bounced.

"Can you see me? If not, I am Anouska, I'll have my treat now and MrB will be along in a second for his."

Hmmm...an interesting look but I'm not sure it completely works. I think next time I try this I'll have to bite the bullet and point the flash directly at him from behind. Does anyone know a place that sells wraparound bunny sunglasses?

  1. Well at least we now know that shamelessness is a major constituent of dark matter. I don't know much about cameras, but with today's technology, you can't possibly really need a flash, but if you insist, bunny eyes can be protected by having them directed down to very full treat bowls.

    1. Remember - this camera isn't "today's technology", it was bought used and is more like "yesteryear's technology". The ISO only goes up to about 1600, at which point everything is a black or green group of squares.
It's a reasonable suggestion about the treats, but that whole "eyes on the side of the head, 350 degree vision" thing makes it slightly impractical with MrB. I'm thinking maybe trying Anouska, where for once her loppy ears preventing her seeing behind herself might be a bonus!

  2. Yar - it is interesting/artsy, but seems to lack your signature style.

I'm sure Mr B will let you try again if you give him two treats. :)

    1. I've come to realise that "having a signature style", "sticking to what you know" and "being a lazy oaf" are often synonyms. Here in this post I'm trying to "improve my range", which is a synonym for "grow, via the path of failure".

    2. I consider it more your photos are so crisp/clear one can reach out to touch the screen and expect to touch bunny fur.
